| Did you know that milk is unnecessary for cats? It may even cause diarrhoea in those which have an intolerance to lactose in milk. Water is essential to your cat's health and should be available at all times. Feed and water bowls should be shallow and clean and be placed in a familiar and safe feeding place away from the kitty litter. In order to keep your cat safe, as well as other local wildlife, keep your cat in at night. A study of cats brought into the Cat Protection Society Clinic found that, over a four week period, 94% of all accidents had occurred at night. If you keep your cat inside all the time, ensure that they have fresh water, food, a regularly cleaned litter tray and a warm, draught free place to sleep. All cats are naturally curious, playful and love to explore. Make sure, if possible, they have a window to look out of and a few toys around. These can be as simple as a table tennis ball, a ball of string or wool and a cardboard box for them to jump into. |
